Family Trees

twellman_frontcoverThe extended family network of the Plantagenets is extraordinarily complicated. So complicated, in fact, that it was not possible to incorporate a practically functioning diagram of the family within A Palace For Our Kings.

Consequently, readers of the book are welcome to download (for free) a number of family trees relating to many of the individuals mentioned in the text. These diagrams were created via the excellent online family tree-maker Family Echo which comes as a highly recommended tool.

The tree has been broken down into seven elements:

  1. The Angevin and Plantagenet monarchy
  2. The French connections of the Plantagenets
  3. Scottish Kings
  4. The Mortimers and the Yorkists
  5. Lancastrians
  6. De Burgh family
  7. Post-Mediaeval owners of Clipstone
